This practical workshop introduces innovators, accelerators, investors, and sustainability teams to forward-looking climate impact assessment, its methodology, and key tools. Rather than focusing only on theory, participants learn how to set up their analysis, identify the most material greenhouse gas impact pathways and begin developing a credible impact model, leaving with a clearer understanding of how to assess, improve, and communicate the potential climate impact of the technology of interest.

More About the Course
WHAT PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN
Any tier can be paired with 1:1 technical assistance sessions with our instructor to help guide each participant's impact modelling process. These sessions are highly recommended, as climate impact modelling often requires technology-specific judgment that cannot be fully addressed in a group workshop. The goal is to help participants move from a first-pass model to a more credible, decision-useful impact assessment.
Course Curriculum
The course is structured in three progressive tiers :
Basic
Climate Impact Foundations

Intermediate
Applied Climate Impact Modelling
2 hours
Advanced
In-depth Model Development
3+ hours
Each building on the last, the course provides methodology fundamentals to a full working session producing a draft impact model, key assumptions, and a research plan. Optional 1:1 technical assistance sessions are available alongside any tier.

Level of Difficulty
No advanced technical background in lifecycle assessment or GHG accounting is required, but participants should be ready to engage with technical/quantitative concepts

Gigi Alsaadi
Gigi Alsaadi is a Vancouver-based impact specialist and co-founder at Kanata Advisors, where she supports innovators and accelerators through climate impact assessment and field-building.
She also serves as a CRANE Fellow at Prime Coalition, a U.S.-based nonprofit, and is a Co-Founder of KanataQ, a sustainability solutions hub. Her past experience spans corporate sustainability, impact due diligence, and communications.
Gigi is a University of Toronto alumna, holding a Master of Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Biology, with a business certificate. She volunteers with CAFIID, the Canada Forum for Impact Investment and Development.
